Roman Belousov: Kazakhstan's petrochemical industry is ready for rapid growth by 2030

Kazakhstan intends to increase its petrochemical production from 357,800 tons in 2023 to 1.8 million tons by 2030, as stated in the Roadmap for the development of the petrochemical industry for 2024-2030, recently developed by the Ministry of Energy, according to the ministry's press. This was announced by the service on October 14. The document was approved by the government of Kazakhstan.

The roadmap, which covers activities from the provision of raw materials to the supply of final products, aims to stimulate the petrochemical sector and facilitate the implementation of projects, in particular by providing the necessary resources for current and new projects.

These include six projects worth US$14.7 billion, which are expected to create approximately 3,500 permanent and 16,000 temporary jobs.

The road map also provides for the creation of the necessary infrastructure in the special economic zone "National Industrial and Petrochemical Technopark", ensuring sales markets, stimulating domestic consumption, improving the scientific base and human capital, adopting regulatory and technical documents to support the development of the industry.
