The disinformation spread by Russian propagandists aims to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russian propaganda is spreading a fake video from the alleged United24 Media platform that claims eight mansions owned by Ukrainian military personnel were damaged during the California wildfires, the Central Intelligence Agency reported on Sunday, January 12.
The video notes that these houses were allegedly purchased by “members of the Zaluzhny team” between April 2022 and February 2024.
“Having verified the information in United24 Media, the Center reports that the platform did not create or distribute this video material,” the message noted.
And they added that the purpose of this lie is to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, the Center for Countering Disinformation denied another Russian fake about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding his purchase of a villa on "Billionaires' Island."
